Lent is a solemn season of 40 days, beginning on Ash Wednesday and leading up to Easter Sunday, during which Christians prepare their hearts through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Rooted in Jesus’ 40 days of fasting in the wilderness, Lent is a time of repentance, self-examination, and spiritual renewal, calling believers to turn away from sin and grow closer to God. It is a season of deep reflection on Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection, inviting the faithful to embrace sacrifice and transformation in preparation for the joy of Easter.

Lent is my favorite time of the year!

I pray more and go deeper in my spirituality.  My gratitude and thankfulness are heightened, and I find myself in a greater spiritual calmness.

Many years ago, a great priest said, “Don’t Give Up for Lent – Just Give.”

Let your heart reach out with kindness, share a gift, embrace the day with gratefulness and kick negativity out the window.

Let your negativity wash away and replace it with grace.  Open your eyes and search out positivity.  Pull a good deed out of your heart and bring a little heaven to someone’s day with acts of kindness, compassion, and giving.

Small gestures have the ability to make the lives of others better and your heart full.

Give it a try!

I have faith in you.
