When you hear the word “reflection” what comes to your mind?
My mind goes to the vision I get standing in front of a full-length mirror, with not always the best expected and desired results. And then we realize that is as good as it gets and there may not be anything that can be done to improve the vision.
To me, it is such a blessing to know, that when I stand in front of Christ, to check my reflection, that no matter what I see, there is always a clear path to make any and all necessary changes.
How do I stand in front of my Savior and bare my soul?
Actually, it is really easy when we accept the fact Jesus is with us all the time. He knows our every strength and weakness. It is impossible for me to hide even the smallest part of my life that is unacceptable to being ” Christ-like” and yet it seems there are times I can overlook things that I deem are not important.
You see, it does not matter, I can be forgiven no matter who I am, where I am, or where I think I am going.
Let’s confirm what I am saying by reading Isaiah 1:18, “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” This is God telling the Jewish people, and us, only by faith in Christ can one’s sins be cleaned, and a brand-new reflection appear in the mirror of our life with Christ.
I have seen a lot of mirrors in my life, some are covered in dust, some are streaked with life’s events, and even some mirrors I can hardly see any reflection at all. But, when Jesus comes with his glass cleaner and a new white cloth, everything changes in a short period of time.
I am sure I spent too much time with “mirrors” today, but Jesus Christ gave his all that I could be spotless and a perfect reflection of the love he has for us.
Look in the mirror again and see the reflection that was tarnished, is now as white as snow!
